Welcome to our 'Outstanding' Church of England SchoolIn our Statutory Inspection of Anglcan Schools (SIAS) that took place in September 2011, we were judged to be an outstanding church school. We are proud of our church school distinctiveness and the values we promote that exemplify our school mission and aims. We place each child's well-being and learning at the heart of all we do. We are committed to providing inspiring and meaningful learning experiences underpinned by core skills and a wide range of opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom so that our children grow to be successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens able to make a positive contribution to the world in which they live with all its opportunities and challenges. 'Pupils at Collaton St Mary C. of E. enjoy coming to school because they feel valued and safe.' OFSTEDWe value our links with our community and parish and benefit from shared activities in our community facility. Amongst our many enriching partnerships, as a Flag ship school the Food for Life organisation, and holders of the prestigious Gold Award , we are particularly proud of our provision for school meals and all round food education in our drive to encourage children to adopt a healthy, sustainable life-style. In addition to this, we were awarded the illustrious Devon Life Magazine School Meals Award in Spring 2012. Our OFSTED inspection in July 2011 recognised that Collaton St Mary provides an outstanding curriculum which, combined with the strong Christian ethos, leads to outstanding, highly considerate behaviour in lessons, around the whole school and plays a pivotal role in the good quality of pupils' learning. 'This is a wonderful school where all the teachers really care about the children. Behaviour is excellent, they love learning and are so happy here.' Parent 2011We hope that you find our web site informative and interesting and that it provides a flavour of our school with all that it has to celebrate and offer. |
Latest newsWelcome back to the second half of the spring term at Collaton St Mary. We hope that everyone had a good half term, and is ready for the busy five weeks leading upto Easter. Over the half term holiday, Miss Postlethwaite and her family welcomed a new baby girl into the world, and we send her all our best wishes. This half term will see the opening of the Y1 and KS2 restaurants, which parents and friends are warmly encouraged to enjoy. We also have parents' consultations scheduled for the 11th and 13th March. We're looking forward to discussing the children's progress with parents then, but remember our teachers are happy to speak with parents at the end of every school day. Many thanks to parents who returned our recent survey. We had a really good number of responses. We are busy analysing the results, and plan to share these, along with our response as soon as possible.
